He should have seen it coming, especially with his replacement being what they really wanted. But he seems to be genuinely stupid - one only has to
hear him laboriously reading a statement. Even getting through that small number of words semi-coherently is more of a challenge than it is for the
House Minority Leader.
The weakness - not whether he can be convicted but the material - of the case is puzzling. You know the guy is as corrupt as any New York politician
and there's gotta be a lot more. I suppose when you can fabricate cases out of thin air and get convictions and massive judgments real crimes are a
piece of cake.
Diddy is easier to understand or at least guess - he has outlived his usefulness or become a loose cannon or both. I'd say both - he was always dangerous
but has become increasingly so and has produced plenty of material in nearly thirty years. Was he smart enough to have some stuff stashed somewhere
for insurance? Probably not and if he did and it comes to light it will simply be denied.
